A man standing next to his car on the Bruckner Expressway in the Bronx was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver early Sunday, police said.

Cops found the 51-year-old victim dead from severe head and body trauma in the northbound lanes of the expressway near exit 8 leading to Pelham Parkway about 5:15 a.m. His name was not immediately released.

The victim’s injuries were consistent with being struck by a vehicle, police said.

His tricked-out Toyota Camry was nearby. It’s not clear why he stepped outside his vehicle.

Police are looking for the hit-and-run driver.
