You could get paid to take a Buc-ee's road trip

US

(NEXSTAR) — Summer’s here and that means it’s time for road trips — and if you’re anywhere in the South, that means stops at Texas’ signature rest stop, Buc-ee’s. But this summer, you could actually earn money to visit Buc-ee’s locations across the U.S.

Here’s how it works.

The sports betting information resource outlet Betting.us (not affiliated with Buc-ee’s) is holding its Buc-ee’s Summer Road Trip Challenge — which will entail visiting five Buc-ee’s locations in the U.S. in their car. The selected candidate will buy different Buc-ee’s food items, like Beaver Nuggets and brisket sandwiches, to compare both quality and price between locations.

The Buc-ee’s road tripper will also inspect bathrooms for cleanliness, grade wait times at registers and gas lines, and compare prices of fuel and other various merchandise.

Additionally, the winner will also be asked to stop at non-Buc-ee’s gas stations to compare how the Beaver stacks up.

In exchange for your time and the miles, Betting.us says the chosen candidate will receive a $1,000 stipend for gas and lodging, in addition to $1,000 in Buc-ee’s gift cards.

Interested in applying? Entry is limited to one submission per person and participants must be 18 years of age. To apply, participants must submit a short application explaining their travel experience, content creation skills, and a blurb explaining why they are the perfect person for the job.

Entry closes at 11:59 p.m. ET on July 31.

The chosen candidate will have until the end of 2024 to take their road trip.

Buc-ee’s locations can currently be found in Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee, and of course, many in Texas.
