Rob Schneider Calls Out Justin Trudeau

Rob Schneider has shared his hope that Justin Trudeau‘s “days are numbered” as he criticized the Canadian prime minister in an interview.

Saturday Night Live alum Schneider has become increasingly publicly critical of those on the more liberal wing of politics in recent years. In December, the actor and comedian—who has endorsed independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for president—made an appearance at conservative organization Turning Point USA‘s AmericaFest.

Last week, Schneider was in Las Vegas, Nevada, to attend FreedomFest, an annual festival “where free minds meet to celebrate freedom in an open-minded environment. It is independent, nonpartisan, and not officially affiliated with any organization or think tank.”

Sitting down for an interview on the Free the People podcast while at the event, Schneider said: “I want to be known as an actor, a comedian. But, at the same time, things have come to play where, you know, you can’t unsee it or unknow it.”

The Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo star then went on to discuss his readings on democracy, before saying that those who aren’t impressed with the foundation of the U.S. on freedom of speech are likely “dummies.”

“They’re probably Canadians,” host Matt Kibbe said.

“They could be,” Schneider responded, before repeatedly saying “oh yeah” in a mock Canadian accent. “I love Canadians, but I figured how to say ‘f*** you’ in Canadian. It’s, ‘Oh yeah!’ ‘Hey, dude, you’re taking up my two parking spaces.’ ‘Oh yeah!’ ‘You’re not really gonna vote for Trudeau?’ ‘Oh yeah.'”

Keeping his attention on the Canadian prime minister, Schneider said: “Hopefully, his days are numbered.”

“It’s tyranny with a smile,” he added, before describing Canada as “an interesting country, and I think they have great traditions.”

“I mean, Canada kind of took a turn that no one saw coming,” Schneider said, “I mean, unless they really listened to Trudeau before. His favorite country is China. ‘And you know who gives a lot of good ideas? China.’ He just said that, and he still got elected.”

Schneider then went on to discuss the 2022 Freedom Convoy that began as a protest against requirements that truckers get vaccinated against COVID-19 or face possible quarantine or testing. Thousands of truckers took to Canada’s highways, upending supply chains, choking major entry points to the U.S. and occupying a portion of the capital city, Ottawa.

In efforts to stop the blockades, Trudeau became the first Canadian prime minister to use the Emergencies Act. It can be invoked in a national emergency that “seriously threatens the ability of the Government of Canada to preserve the sovereignty, security and territorial integrity of Canada.”

“What happened to the truckers was so obscene,” Schneider said. “I have very good friends in Canada. And I remember one of them said, ‘Yeah, but they were honking horns.’ Yeah, but it was for freedom. And the fight for freedom is… going to include some noise.”

On the domestic front, Schneider has also been repeatedly critical of President Joe Biden, who is expected to face off against Donald Trump at this year’s presidential election.

Meanwhile, Schneider appeared on Fox & Friends First in April to explain his support for Kennedy.

Schneider said health care is one of his top priorities, adding: “We spent five times more than they do in Europe for health care. And we have way worse results. We can’t have 60 percent of the American population, unhealthy, 54 percent of children.

“That needs to be the biggest story for you guys in all mass media. The fact that children have chronic illness at over 50 percent, that’s a 10- to 12-year-old statistic. So we have to get people healthy.”

He added: “[Kennedy is] talking about things that really matter.”

Schneider said that people are tired of being offered the same thing, alluding to the anticipated rematch between President Biden and former President Donald Trump.
