A large fire in a commercial building in downtown Los Angeles raged for hours Friday morning, damaging multiple buildings as 170 firefighters battled the blaze.
The fire at 683 S. Kohler St. was reported just after 2 a.m., the Los Angeles Fire Department said in a news release.
Five buildings were burned, four commercial and one vacant apartment building, said Capt. Cody Weireter.
Firefighters also utilized a robot to attack “deep-seated pockets of fire” in areas that are too dangerous for human firefighters, Weireter said.
One firefighter suffered a minor injury to their knee, KTLA’s Erin Myers reports.
