Bay Area power outages: PG&E warns Bay Area customers of possible Public Safety Power Shutoff due to fire danger

US

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — PG&E is warning Bay Area customers of a possible Public Safety Power Shutoff in multiple counties due to dry conditions and increased fire danger.

According to the company’s website, the outages could occur on Saturday and Sunday.

ABC7 News meteorologist Drew Tuma says it will be windy but we won’t see those dangerous dry offshore winds. Instead, there will be cooler, wetter winds coming from the ocean and humidity won’t be critically low.

Here’s a list of counties where a PSPS is likely:

  • Alameda
  • Contra Costa
  • Fresno
  • Merced
  • San Benito
