Six people were charged with murder Thursday in connection with a drive-by shooting that killed two men and injured five others in Lynn last year, officials said.

The alleged shooters include two teenagers.

Essex County District Attorney Paul Tucker said 25-year-old Justin Alba of Peabody, as well as 20-year-old Darwin Batista, 22-year-old Yefferson Vallecillo Camba, 16-year-year Carlos Ramirez Corniel, 15-year-old Leonardo Espinoza, and 21-year-old Abel Severino Reyes, all of Lynn, are each facing two counts of murder.

The four adults are also each facing one count of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury and four counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, the DA said.

In September, 25-year-old Abraham Diaz was killed after a late-night shooting at a gathering in Lynn. 21-year-old Jandriel Heredia, of Revere, died the following day. The DA said five others were also injured.

In a statement, Lynn Mayor Jared Nicholson said the double homicide “was incredibly tragic.”

“While nothing will replace the loss of Abraham Diaz and Jandriel Heredia or change how many lives were forever impacted by such heinous acts of violence, these charges are a meaningful step for the families as well as our entire community, which continues to deserve and demand peace,” Nicholson said in a statement.

The DA said the alleged shooters have not yet been scheduled to appear in court.
