Police investigating homicide in Southeast Austin Thursday morning

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department said it is investigating a homicide in Southeast Austin in the 2000 block of Burton Drive on Thursday morning.

APD said the call came in at 2:01 a.m.

Austin Police said the victim had life-threatening injuries and provided emergency medical care. The victim was pronounced deceased at 2:26 a.m.

Police said the incident is being investigated as Austin’s 34th homicide. No suspect is in custody.

There is no known threat to the public at this time, according to APD.
