APD investigating after 1 person shot in southeast Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department is investigating after one person was shot in southeast Austin on Wednesday.

Shortly before 9:15 p.m., APD said officers responded to the scene, at East Riverside Drive and South Interstate 35 northbound frontage road, the agency said on social media. The shooting victim was taken to a hospital.

The Austin Police Department is investigating after a shooting sent one person to the hospital on Wednesday in southeast Austin.

Police said the northbound frontage is closed at Sunnyvale Street, and the Riverside Drive exit is closed. Drivers should expect delays, as well as seek alternate routes.
