NWS Survey crews continue hard at work following Monday’s destructive thunderstorms

As of Wednesday evening, the tornado count stands at 12 for Monday, this includes 3 in the Rockford area. The Channahon area was upgraded to an EF2 with a path length of nearly 29 miles and estimated wind speeds of 120 mph. Trucks were flipped, large transmission towers were knocked down and many roofs/homes were heavily damaged.
