US

Two suspects connected to a home invasion in Los Angeles pepper sprayed a resident, police say.

Preliminary information indicates that Los Angeles Police Department officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of South Crescent Heights Boulevard around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Footage from Sky5 shows the home’s shattered back door. Officers were also seen approaching the back of the residence with their guns drawn.

The woman who was home at the time was pepper sprayed before she was able to flee, police confirmed.

She then called 911 from a neighbor’s home.

There was property taken from the home, LAPD stated, but exactly what was taken was not disclosed.

The woman was treated at the scene but not transported to a hospital.

The two suspects were both described as Black men wearing black masks.

An investigation into the home invasion is currently in its preliminary stages.

Alberto Mendez contributed to this report.
