2-time defending NCAA champions UConn to take on Longhorns in Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The two-time defending NCAA men’s basketball champions will play in Moody Center this coming season.

Texas Athletics announced the Longhorns and Connecticut Huskies will play a home-and-home series with the first game in Austin on Dec. 8. The tipoff time and television broadcast information will be announced later. The teams will play at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Connecticut, on Dec. 12, 2025.

UConn leads the all-time series 7-3 and won the most recent matchup 81-71 last season at Madison Square Garden in the Saatva Empire Classic.

UConn signed head coach Dan Hurley to a massive 6-year, $50 million after he declined a contract offer from the Los Angeles Lakers.

Two UConn players from last year’s title-winning team were lottery selections in the 2024 NBA Draft — point guard Stephon Castle at No. 4 to the Spurs and center Donovan Clingan at No. 7 to the Trail Blazers.
