Crash involving gas line on East Seventh Street cleared

AUSTIN (KXAN) — East Seventh Street was closed in both directions near Springdale Road briefly Tuesday morning as officers responded to a crash involving a gas line. The scene was cleared by 9:20 a.m.

The Austin Police Department said at 8:46 a.m. it was helping with a collision involving a gas line at East Seventh Street and Gunter Street, and that East Seventh was closed in both directions.

That area is just west of Springdale Road.

The Austin Fire Department said over the phone there was a gas leak in the area. AFD said shortly before 9:20 a.m. the scene had been cleared and the issue was taken care of.

The details of the crash or condition of the driver were not immediately available.
