Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell was booed during the roll call of state delegations at the Republican National Convention on Monday.
McConnell, a Republican from Kentucky, was reading off his state’s delegations for the GOP presidential nominee when several members of the crowd began loudly booing the lawmaker, who has in the past butted heads with former President Donald Trump.
A handful of the convention attendees were heard cheering as McConnell spoke as well, including some attendees who stood behind the senator while he announced Kentucky’s delegates. A clip of the moment was shared to X, formerly Twitter, by the account Acyn.
Trump won Kentucky’s primary vote earlier this month, earning all 46 GOP delegates for the state, according to the Associated Press.
