Biden to reschedule visit to Austin following Trump rally shooting

US

AUSTIN (KXAN) — President Joe Biden will no longer be coming to Austin on Monday, according to the White House. It was announced the planned trip would be rescheduled.

The president was originally scheduled to visit in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of President Lyndon B. Johnson’s signing of the Civil Rights Act. Biden was expected to deliver a keynote address at the LBJ Presidential Library in honor of the milestone.

The LBJ Presidential Library said the program will be rescheduled for later in July.

The announcement came following a shooting Saturday afternoon at a rally for former President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania.
