Rainey Street Trailhead now open following ribbon-cutting ceremony downtown

AUSTIN (KXAN) — On Friday, The Trail Conservancy held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the grand opening of the Rainey Street Trailhead, the newest addition to the Ann & Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail.

“This exciting development marks a significant milestone in enhancing the connectivity and accessibility of Austin’s beloved trail system, offering a new park full of amenities for the community,” the conservancy said.

The ceremony took place at 8 a.m. near the corner of Rainey Street and Cummings Street in downtown Austin.

Mayor Kirk Watson, Councilmember Zohaib “Zo” Qadri, Lucas Massie, Assistant Director of the Austin Parks and Recreation Department, and Kimberly McNeely, CEO of The Trail Conservancy, were all in attendance.
