Medical examiner reports 4 south suburban homicides

Four people were killed over the span of five days in Chicago Heights, Glenwood, Calumet Park and Harvey, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office and law enforcement agencies.

A 56-year-old woman was killed July 9 “by multiple sharp-force injuries” on 15732 South Loomis Avenue in Harvey, according to the medical examiner’s report. Harvey police did not respond immediately to requests for comment.

A 38-year-old man from Chicago died July 8 of a gunshot wound to the chest on the 800 block of West 123rd Street in Calumet Park, the medical examiner reported. Illinois State Police confirmed they assisted Calumet Park police with the investigation, but Calumet Park police did not respond to requests for more information.

Przemek Bogzanowicz, 46, was shot in the head and killed July 5 after being lured on social media to a meeting spot in Glenwood by the 15-year-old shooter, police said. The 15-year-old was taken into custody July 7.

Another shooting July 5 led to the death of a 21-year-old man on the 600 block of Brookline Street in Chicago Heights. Chicago Heights police did not respond to requests for more information.
