CEDAR PARK, Texas (KXAN) — The Cedar Park Police Department is warning citizens after it received reports of an officer impersonation scheme, according to an X post by the CPPD on Monday.

CPPD said it has received reports of callers impersonating a police lieutenant and demanding money. Then, the caller is threatening arrest if the money isn’t given, according to the post.

“Remember, we will never ask for money or BitCoin!” Police said in the social media post.

If you encounter a fraudulent caller, you can report it on the CPPD website.
