CHICAGO — Four people were hospitalized after a shootout on the city’s South Side early Sunday morning.
Chicago police say the gunfire erupted just before 3:30 a.m. in the 3700 block of South State Street in Bronzeville.
According to police, a group of people were gathered on a street in the area when a white truck approached and a shoutout broke out between the group and people inside of the truck.
Officers say four people were struck by gunfire in the shootout.
Two of the victims, a 41-year-old man and a 31-year-old man, were hospitalized in critical condition. Two others, a 35-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man were hospitalized in good condition.
Currently, it is unclear what led to the shootout and authorities say no arrests have been made.
