Person in custody after robbing teen on the CTA Orange Line overnight, Chicago police say – Chicago Tribune

An armed robber was taken into custody overnight after robbing and injuring a teenage man on the CTA Orange Line, Chicago police said.

About 12:30 a.m. Saturday, the victim was on the Orange Line in the 3500 block of South Archer Avenue when he was approached by a male with a knife who demanded his property. When the teenage man refused he was cut on the forehead who took the victim’s belongings and fled the scene, police said.

The robber was arrested a short distance away with the victim’s possessions. The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics for a small laceration to the head, and refused further medical help, police said.

Charges were pending against the armed robber.
