Trump challenges Biden to ‘no holds barred’ presidential debate

Former President Donald Trump challenged President Biden to another presidential debate — this time with fewer rules and no moderators — where Biden can prove his “competence or lack thereof.”

The 78-year-old presumptive GOP presidential nominee called for the “no holds barred” debate in a post on Truth Social Thursday afternoon, a week after Biden’s first debacle.

“I have the answer to the Crooked Joe Biden Incompetence Puzzle — Let’s do another Debate, but this time, no holds barred,” Trump said in a post. “An all-on discussion, with just the two of us on stage, talking about the future of our Country.”

Trump suggested the proposed debate’s ratings would “blow everything away,” over the new format even after the first debate, hosted by CNN, reeled in 47.9 million viewers.

The proposed new rules would be a back-and-forth affair between the two political rivals, a drastic change from the ones they had agreed to a week prior, which was co-moderated by CNN hosts Jake Tapper and Dana Bash.

During the first debate, each candidate only had 2 minutes per answer, followed by one minute of rebuttals and their microphones were turned off when they ran out of time, or while the other was speaking.

Trump, 78, claimed his format would allow Biden, 81, to explain the many policies he has enacted during his first term have been seen as bad for the American people.

“Let Joe explain why he wants Open Borders, with millions of people, and many violent criminals from parts unknown, pouring into our once great Nation, or why he wants Men Playing in Women’s Sports,” Trump said.

“Or demand ALL ELECTRIC VEHICLES within five years, or why he allowed INFLATION TO RUN RAMPANT, destroying the people of our Country, and so much more.

“It would also, under great pressure, prove his ‘competence,’ or lack thereof,” Trump claimed, a dig at the growing calls for Biden to drop out of the race following his disastrous performance at the first debate.

While on stage facing Trump on June 27, Biden froze and later claimed to have “beat Medicare” during the opening minutes of the debate.

Following his disastrous debate performance, several key democrat figures including the editorial boards of the New York Times and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution called for Biden to step down from seeking reelection.

Biden invited nearly two dozen Democratic governors to the White House Wednesday to gather support and quell the evergrowing pressure for him to drop out of the presidential election.

But during the meeting, Biden reportedly told the attendees he needed more sleep and work fewer hours, even avoiding events held after 8 p.m.

Biden’s comments come after previous reports suggesting he can only fully handle the job between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Around the same time as Trump’s debate challenge, Biden appeared to make several gaffes and misstatements while delivering a speech at the official White House Fourth of July celebration.

Trump said the new debate would also be another test for him.

“What a great evening it would be,” Trump said. “Just the two of us, one on one, in a good, old-fashioned Debate, the way they used to be. ANYTIME, ANYWHERE, ANYPLACE!!!”

Days after the debate, leaked video footage showed the Republican White House hopeful sitting in a golf cart with his youngest son Barron Trump suggesting his 2024 opponent will soon drop out of the race, while calling him “broken-down pile of crap.”

A second debate has already been agreed upon by both campaigns and is scheduled for Sept.10 at 9 p.m., Biden has already vowed to return to the stage.

Biden and the White House have not responded to Trump’s proposal.
