One of the suspects, a Fall River woman, allegedly beat, starved, drugged, and used sleep deprivation methods to force the young victims into submission.

Six people have been charged in connection to a sex trafficking conspiracy that spanned several states and involved three victims, including two minors, federal prosecutors announced Friday.

An indictment was unsealed last week in federal court in Boston charging Fall River residents Christy Parker, 26; Cory Primo, 42; and Avvani Jeffers, 22, on charges of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion; sex trafficking of a minor; and conspiracy to commit sex trafficking.

South Carolina residents Alexander Smalls, 25, and Tre’sean Reid, both of Beaufort County, and 21, and Tyreik Reid, 20, of Allendale, were also indicted on the charges.

According to Acting U.S. Attorney Joshua S. Levy, the suspects allegedly trafficked the victims throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and South Carolina and kept all the profits for themselves. Parker allegedly used physical violence and threats to coerce the victims to comply.

Prosecutors say the scheme was carried out between January and August 2023, after Parker moved in with the adult victim. Parker, along with her boyfriend, Smalls, allegedly coerced the woman to quit her job and engage in commercial sex work. The pair allegedly forced the victim to sign a “profit sharing contract,” which required the victim to “remain loyal and humble and stay focused,” according to Levy.

Parker and Smalls allegedly scheduled the sex meetups in multiple states, including South Carolina, set prices, and took all the profits.

In July 2023, Parker met the 16-year-old victim and used similar measures to force her into sex work. According to Levy, Parker used threats of violence, alcohol, marijuana, starvation, and sleep deprivation to maintain control of the girl.

“Parker would allegedly beat the minor victim if she fell asleep because a customer could request her at any time,” Levy said. “On one occasion, Parker allegedly withheld food from the minor victim for four to five days after failing to collect the entire fee from a buyer.”

Parker also allegedly beat and choked the girl and kept her from seeking medical treatment.

Prosecutors say in August, Parker allegedly began trafficking a 17-year-old runaway, again scheduling sex buyers and pocketing all the profits. Prosecutors say Parker also threatened to physically assault the girl if she didn’t work.

“The allegations in this case are truly chilling. One minor victim in this case was forced to engage in sex for money with many men. That young girl is someone’s daughter, she is someone’s granddaughter. It is hard to conceive of more vile conduct than what is set forth in these charges. Sex trafficking is not a distant problem – it is happening right here, in our neighborhoods, and often goes unnoticed or unreported,” said Levy said. “Our office is relentlessly pursuing individuals who inflict such exploitation and suffering simply to line their own pockets. We are using every resource at our disposal to hold perpetrators accountable and seek justice for every victim.”

Parker and Primo are due to appear in U.S. District Court in Boston on July 8. Jeffers was arrested on June 27 and made an initial appearance later that day. She will be detained pending a detention hearing on July 8. Smalls is awaiting trial in South Carolina and will be arraigned in Boston at a later date. Tyreik Reid will appear in U.S. District Court in South Carolina for a detention hearing on July 10. Tre’sean Reid is still a fugitive at large.

The suspects face up to a lifetime in prison if convicted of the sex trafficking charges, supervised release, and a $250,000 fine.
