7 pedestrians injured, 4 critically, in NYC; driver in custody

A suspect was taken into custody after allegedly mowing down seven pedestrians in New York, cops confirmed Thursday night.

Four of the victims were severely injured and rushed to local hospitals but are not expected to survive.

The incident occurred just before 9 p.m. at the corner of Water Street and Jackson Street, police said. The investigation remains ongoing.

NYPD could not immediately confirm the type of vehicle the suspect was driving.
