1 rescued, search continues for 2 others after boaters fall into water near marina in Hammond, Indiana

HAMMOND, Ind. — One person was rescued and a search continues for two others who are believed to have fallen off a boat near a marina in Lake County, Indiana on Friday afternoon.

According to officials from the Coast Guard, three people are believed to have fallen off of a boat near Hammond Marina, in the 700 block of Casino Center Drive in Hammond.

Officials say one of the people was pulled from the water and taken to the marina where they were then handed off to emergency crews. Their condition is currently unknown.

A search continues for the two others who are still believed to be in the water near the marina.
