A man and a woman have been arrested after an argument over a parking spot in San Bernardino County escalated into violence, authorities announced Wednesday.

The assault occurred on July 1 around 4 p.m. in the 25000 block of Barton Road in Loma Linda, according to a news release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities said that when deputies arrived at the location, they learned that two suspects, later identified as 45-year-old Compton resident Lonnie Hall and 18-year-old Loma Linda resident Keira Brown, allegedly assaulted the victim during the argument and flashed a handgun before fleeing in a maroon Kia Optima.

A short time later, deputies spotted the vehicle in Loma Linda and made a traffic stop.

Three people in the car, including Brown, were detained, authorities said, adding that they then learned that Hall was at a residence in the city.

“Central Station detectives and deputies surrounded the residence and called Hall in an attempt to have him surrender peacefully,” the release stated. “Hall refused to exit the home. After a brief standoff, Hall exited the home and was arrested.”

A search warrant was executed inside the premises where authorities say evidence of the assault over a parking spot was located.

Hall and Brown were booked at the West Valley Detention Center for assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy.
