CHICAGO — Holiday violence started Wednesday night and continued into the Fourth of July morning—with three people in the hospital, two of them are in critical condition.
Just before 11 p.m. a man on a motorcycle in the 600 block of East 71st Street was shot by someone in a gray SUV, police said. The 22-year-old man was shot several times and was taken to the hospital in fair condition.
A 26-year-old man was in the 6500 block of South Western in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday when someone from a passing vehicle fired shots.
The man was shot in the neck and head and taken to the hospital in critical condition.
At 1 a.m. gunfire erupted near the corner of 62nd and Laflin in the West Englewood neighborhood.
According to police, a 34-year-old man was outside when he was shot in the neck.
He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The person who fired the gun left the scene on foot.
Currently there is no one in custody for any of the shootings.
