Police release information on Saturday’s motorcycle fatality

AUSTIN (KXAN) – Austin Police released information on a crash involving a motorcycle and another vehicle at the 2400 block of South MoPac northbound on Saturday, June 29.

Officers responded to the crash at about 11:56 p.m. after the motorcycle rider, Christopher Hale, fell off the motorcycle and then was hit by another vehicle, the report says.

Police say Hale was transported to the hospital and was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the vehicle was not impaired, according to the report, and the other occupants were not injured.

APD says the incident is being investigated as Austin’s 38th fatal crash of 2024 with 39 fatalities for the year.
