CHICAGO — A flight from Chicago to San Francisco returned to O’Hare International Airport around midday Wednesday after crew reported a pressurization issue, a Federal Aviation Administration official confirmed.

United Airlines Flight 343, a Boeing 737-900, landed safely, the official said.

Tracking data from FlightAware.com shows the flight circling back across Illinois after passing over the Mississippi River in Iowa while en route to California. The flight later resumed.

The FAA will investigate Wednesday’s incident.
