3 arrested after scary high-speed pursuit through streets of Los Angeles

Three people have been arrested after a dangerous stolen vehicle pursuit with the Los Angeles Police Department through the streets of L.A., officials confirmed to KTLA.

The suspect, driving a white vehicle, was leading police in chase in the area of University Park before moving into downtown L.A.

After the driver was seen recklessly speeding in heavy traffic, patrol units backed off the chase, though authorities were tracking the suspects from the air.

In the area of 21st Street, the driver and several passengers exited the vehicle and fled on foot, jumping fences in the area.

The suspects appeared to have entered an apartment building at 1020 E. 20th St., where LAPD had set up a perimeter when Sky5 was forced to leave the area.

Authorities later confirmed that three suspects had been taken into custody. It is unclear if there are any other suspects outstanding.
