Woman allegedly bites trooper, spits on jail officer in Northwest Indiana

PORTER COUNTY, Ind. — A Chicago woman was arrested after allegedly biting an Indiana State Trooper and a jail officer.

Indiana State Police said the incident began after Shelby Foster, 22, of Chicago, was allegedly going 105 mph on I-94 in Porter County.

Police allege Foster showed signs of alcohol impairment.

Foster allegedly removed one handcuff while being transported to the jail. In an attempt to handcuff her again, Foster bite the right arm of an Indiana State trooper, police allege.

When she got to the jail, Foster was accused of spitting on a jail officer during the booking process.

Foster faces the following charges; battery by bodily waste, intimidation, battery against a public safety official, resisting law enforcement, reckless driving, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, disorderly conduct, operating a vehicle while intoxicated and possession of false identification.
