Sky's Angel Reese named WNBA Rookie of the Month

CHICAGO — Add another accolade to the already impressive rookie campaign for Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese.

On Tuesday, Reese was named WNBA Rookie of the Month.

In June, Reese averaged 14.5 points per game, 13.2 rebounds per game, and 1.8 assists per game. The 22-year-old’s best game of the season came in a home game against cross-state rival Indiana Fever and Caitlin Clark on June 23, where she scored 25 points and 16 rebounds in 36 minutes of play.

Reese also set a WNBA single-season record with 10 consecutive double-doubles in June.

Reese also ranked in the top 10 of fan voting in June for the WNBA All-Star game.

“I’ll say this every day and twice on Sunday. Win or lose. I’m so happy I was (the) No. 7 pick to the Chicago Sky,” Reese said June 30 on X, formerly Twitter.

This Sunday, she was named ‘Sportswoman of the Year’ at the BET Award.

The Sky are in action Tuesday against the Atlanta Dream, beginning at 6 p.m.
