July-2024 kicks off on an unseasonably cool note

Tuesday opens with a good deal of cloudiness. Several widely spaced showers are possible throughout the morning, ending around or just beyond lunchtime. Up to 40-50% of the metro area is likely to see rain before the day concludes. Turning partly sunny, windy, and much warmer in the afternoon. Highs 10 degrees or more warmer than the same period on Monday
A cool final day of June dropped the ranking several spots. June-2024 closes 10th warmest on record in Chicago and the 15thconsecutive month to post a temperature surplus.
