Scattered rain, thunderstorms expected in afternoon

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected again Monday afternoon over the mountains, Interstate 25 corridor and plains, according to the National Weather Service.

Stronger storms may produce hail and strong wind gusts, mainly across northeastern Colorado, NWS meteorologists said.

Monday will be mostly cloudy with a high of 89 degrees in metro Denver. There’s a 20% chance of precipitation with showers before noon and showers and thunderstorms between noon and 5 p.m. possible. Monday night will be partly cloudy with a low of 60 degrees.

Denverites can expect mostly sunny weather with a high of 86 degrees and a 10% chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon on Tuesday. Tuesday night may dip to 58 degrees with a 10% chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight, according to the NWS.

Afternoon showers may continue in the Denver Metro area on Wednesday.
