A Canyon Country man was arrested on Thursday after police say he possessed hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of stolen computers that were being used to mine cryptocurrency.

Bryan Thola, 26, possessed computers worth $579,000 in a cargo van and a public storage unit, the Los Angeles Police Department said in a news release. Those computers were used for mining bitcoin, police added.

Thola faces a charge of receiving stolen property. Police said he was booked into the Van Nuys Jail, though jail records indicate he was released on his own recognizance.
