High-speed pursuit ends in violent crash, multiple fatalities in Upland

A high-speed pursuit in the Inland Empire ended with several people dead and two vehicles demolished in a collision in Upland Friday morning.

Sky5 was over North Mountain Avenue and West 16th Street at 6 a.m. where debris from a black vehicle and a white car involved in the violent crash was spread across the intersection.

It was unclear how many people were killed or which of the damaged vehicles was being chased at the time of the collision.

The intersection and surrounding area were closed during the investigation.

It was also unclear why law enforcement was pursuing one of the vehicles.
