Tuesday’s 90s failed to materialize in Chicago…

Pesky cloudiness that lingered behind morning storms kept Chicago temperatures cooler than predicted Tuesday. Areas just north did get some sun and therefore did record temperatures in the low 90s. 

Other parts of the Midwest sweltered Tuesday, including a record-breaking 103° in St Louis… 

Wednesday temperature snapshot 

Chicago temperature trend: Near/below normal period ahead following a string of above normal days. 

Shifting jet stream winds to the “NW” help to usher in more comfortable temperatures across the Chicago area while the heat retrogrades back to the west… 

Thursday afternoon: much cooler, 70s for most, some upper 60s near Lake Michigan:

“Bubble” of high pressure from Canada to bring delightful early summer weather…

6-10 DAY OUTLOOK  

Temperatures will average near normal across the Chicago area in the final days of June and the opening days of July.

8-14 DAY TEMPERATURE OUTLOOK

Hotter weather is expected to arrive again before the end of the first week of July.
