Cooler temperatures in the high 70s, possible thunderstorms in early afternoon – Chicago Tribune

National Weather Service officials said temperatures would be cooler Wednesday with highs in the upper 70s, but warned of dangerous conditions at Lake Michigan’s beaches in the evening hours into Thursday.

There was slight chance of thunderstorms for portions of north central and northeast Illinois, and northwest Indiana, officials said. Isolated thunderstorms are possible in the early afternoon, officials said.

Later Wednesday evening, officials are expecting dangerous swimming conditions at Lake Michigan’s beaches into Thursday morning.

Current morning conditions at O’Hare International Airport is overcast at 74 degrees. At Midway Airport conditions are similar at 76 degrees.
