US

It’s going to be a hot, humid Tuesday in Chicagoland, with storms and the potential for severe weather approaching the area early Tuesday morning.

Much of Chicagoland is under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 11 a.m. Tuesday, encompassing Northern Illinois, Southern Wisconsin, Northwest Indiana and portions of Michigan. It was upgraded to a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for portions of Northern Illinois as of about 5:30 a.m.

The storms should make their way through the city on Tuesday morning, but some areas to the south, as well as Northwest Indiana, could see storms until around noon.

There’s another chance for storms in Chicagoland later Tuesday.

It’ll also be hot and humid all day, with high temperatures into the 90s but feeling more like around 100 with head index values.

The heat and humidity will abate after Tuesday, however, with cooler, more pleasant weather on tap for the rest of the week.
