A man was fatally shot early on Tuesday morning in front of a high-end clothing store in SoHo, according to police.

Officers responded to a 911 call about a man shot around 5:15 a.m. on Greene and Grand streets, at the address of the Stone Island store, which was closed at the time.

Police said they found a 31-year-old man unconscious and unresponsive at the scene, with a gunshot wound to his right thigh. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital and pronounced dead.

The man’s name has not been released as police work to notify his family. Officials were investigating on Tuesday and did not make any immediate arrests.

Shootings and murders are rare in the 1st Precinct, which encompasses busy parts of Lower Manhattan including SoHo, Tribeca and Wall Street.

From January to mid-June last year, there were no homicides or shooting incidents in the precinct, NYPD data shows. This year, there have been two murders and two shootings reported in the precinct during the same time period.

Mahki Brown, a 16-year-old Brooklyn resident, was fatally shot in broad daylight in SoHo on May 7, just blocks from where Tuesday’s victim was gunned down.

Police later arrested 19-year-old Henry Thomas and a 16-year-old boy in connection with Brown’s killing, which officials said was sparked by an argument near Brown’s school.
