4 in custody after attack on restaurant employees in Mount Greenwood

CHICAGO — Four people are in custody after an attack on restaurant workers on the city’s South Side.

The incident happened around 2 a.m. Sunday at Barraco’s Ristorante in the 3000 block of West 111th Street in the Mount Greenwood neighborhood.

According to Alderman Matt O’Shea, three of the restaurant’s employees were violently attacked by the suspects, who then fled the scene and were arrested a short time later.

One of the employees is in stable condition and another was hospitalized in serious condition. The condition of the third employee is unknown at this time.

O’Shea said the four offenders will be charged with felonies. The suspects are expected to make a court appearance Tuesday.

The alderman is asking anyone with video or information of the attack to contact police.
