3 teens wounded in shooting on South Side

CHICAGO — Three teenagers were shot on the city’s South Side Sunday night.

The shooting happened around 9:46 p.m. on the 200 block of West Pershing Road. Police said officers responded to a call of a person shot and found multiple people struck by gunfire.

According to police, a 15-year-old girl was shot in the leg and was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in good condition. A 15-year-old boy was shot in the upper back and was transported to Comer Children’s Hospital in good condition. A 17-year-old girl was shot in the left arm and was transported to Comer Children’s Hospital in good condition.

Police said a witness told officers that the victims were standing outside when a vehicle stopped and someone exited the vehicle and fired shots, striking the victims.

The offender returned to the vehicle and fled the scene.

No one is in custody and Area One Detectives are investigating.
