1 killed, 2 injured in Little Village shooting

CHICAGO — A man is dead and two others are hospitalized on Sunday night after a shooting on the city’s West Side.

According to Chicago police, the deadly shooting unfolded just before 5 p.m. in the 2800 block of South Kedzie Avenue, in Little Village.

Officers responded to the area following an alert from gunshot detection technology and after arriving on the scene, they found an unresponsive 19-year-old man who had suffered several gunshot wounds.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Officers later confirmed that two other victims, a 19-year-old woman who suffered a gunshot wound to her leg and a 20-year-old man who suffered several gunshot wounds to his body took themselves to the hospital after the shooting.

The 20-year-old man was listed in critical condition and the woman was listed in good condition.

Currently, it is unclear what led to the shooting and authorities say no arrests have been made.

Authorities have not yet identified the victim killed.
