OAKLAND — A  pizza parlor delivery driver was shot Saturday night during an attempted carjacking in the Cleveland Heights area, authorities said.

The 28-year-old man was in stable condition at a hospital where he is being treated for a wound to his face, authorities said.

The shooting happened about 7:15 p.m. Saturday in the 600 block of Alma Avenue, a mainly residential area  near Oakland High School.

Authorities said the man had just made a delivery and was walking back to his car when he was confronted by three people who apparently tried to steal his vehicle.

Whether he tried to resist was not immediately known but one of the three shot him before they fled without his vehicle, police said. Police have not said what pizza company the man worked for.

Detailed descriptions of the suspects were not released.
