Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson has signed a four-year, $36 million contract extension with the club, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The deal includes $17 million fully guaranteed, according to the report.

The 6-foot, 227-pound running back has rushed for 2,265 yards and 14 touchdowns on 499 carries over three seasons in New England.

He is 18th on the Patriots all-time leading rushing list. He’s less than a thousand yards away from moving into the top-7.

Schefter believes he could have a shot at catching the franchise record of 5,453 yards, which was set by Sam Cunningham.

“Rhamondre Stevenson’s new deal now gives him the chance to chase down the Patriots all-time leading rusher title,” Schefter said.

Stevenson rushed for a career-high 1,040 yards in 2022, but injuries slowed him down last year. An ankle sprain suffered in Week 13 against the Chargers ended his season.

Stevenson was entering the last year of his rookie deal before the extension got done. The Patriots picked him in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
