WCSO: Woman arrested, accused of fentanyl possession

US

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A woman was arrested on a possession charge to distribute fentanyl this week after she was arrested back in February by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, the agency said in a news release Thursday.

During a stop for a traffic violation on Feb. 27, WCSO searched a Dodge Charger, driven by Lacy Jones, of Katy, and found a firearm, narcotics and a large sum of money, the release said.

WCSO said, over the course of the investigation, it learned Jones was “a known Fentanyl distributor.” As a result of the investigation, Jones was arrested on Tuesday in Williamson County on an additional federal indictment, the release said.

Jones was arrested by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force on a charge of conspiracy to possess a controlled substance with intent to distribute fentanyl, according to WCSO.

Attorney information wasn’t available as of Thursday, June 20. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.

WCSO said it worked with the Drug Enforcement Agency and United States Marshals Service (USMS) throughout the investigation.
