Flights arriving at Denver International Airport are delayed by more than an hour because of thunderstorms, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
There were 447 flights delayed at DIA as of 3:50 p.m., according to the flight tracking website FlightAware. Most of the delays were on Southwest and United airlines.
A traffic management program for thunderstorms is delaying arriving flights by an average of 1 hour and 13 minutes, according to the FAA.
Northeastern Colorado is under a severe thunderstorm watch Thursday, with tornadoes, tennis-ball-sized hail and 75 mph winds possible, National Weather Service forecasters said.
