AUSTIN (KXAN)— The Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) had its third annual event connecting musicians with healthcare on Tuesday.

The pop-up event called “HAAM Loves You” helps serve Central Texas musicians, music teachers and DJ’s, providing complementary health and wellness services and products, according to a HAAM news release.

Last year, HAAM along with 13 partners, provided over $123,000 in health services to members, and they are expecting to exceed that total after Tuesday’s event.

Earlier this month, the company put on a Corporate Battle of the Bands event, which helped to raise money for events like HAAM Loves You.

“This month, HAAM had Corporate Battle of the Bands where we raised more than $275,000 that supports events like HAAM Loves You that we’re experiencing today,” HAAM Chief Operating Officer, Rachel Blair told KXAN on Tuesday.

HAAM has served more than 7,100 musicians since 2005 and has helped them access more than $144 million in healthcare services, the release said.

Types of care provided for members include primary and specialty care, dental, vision, hearing, mental health, basic needs and other services, according to HAAM.
