The Colorado Rapids, coming off a streak of four winless games, delivered a decisive 2-0 victory against Austin FC at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City on Saturday, June 15, 2024.

Rapids’ midfielder Cole Bassett (23) slotted home a goal in the first half, with forward Rafael Navarro (9) following it up with a goal of his own just four minutes into the second half. Navarro also had an acrobatic volley attempt hit the crossbar later in the second half, and Bassett missed an easy opportunity for a second goal when he flubbed a shot directly in front of the net late in the game. Austin FC finished the game with zero shots on goal. After the victory, fans flooded the field to enjoy a fireworks show.
