OAKLAND — Several lanes of northbound Interstate 880 in Oakland were blocked Friday evening in the wake of a meat spill, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The spill happened around 4:45 p.m. just south of 29th Avenue, a CHP spokesperson said.
The three left lanes of the freeway were blocked, the CHP said in a social media post. The fourth lane was open, but motorists were urged to drive slowly through the area.
The spokesperson said the spill caused a motorcycle to spin out, but there did not appear to be any injuries.
Traffic was backed up. The CHP advised motorists to take alternate routes if possible.
