The Riverside County Assessor-Clerk-Recorder’s office has announced a special opportunity for local couples to make their wedding day extra memorable.

Lovers looking to get married will have the ability to tie the knot this Thursday on Leap Day, Feb. 29, which only occurs once every four years.

County officials say that Feb. 29 is “a date as extraordinary as your love story.”

“Leap Year gives us the chance to host weddings on February 29, a date that’s so special because it’s so rare,” said Riverside County Clerk Peter Aldana. “At the Riverside County ACR, we’re committed to ensuring that every wedding ceremony, especially on Leap Day, is as memorable and unique as the date itself.”

All six Riverside County ACR locations – downtown Riverside, Riverside Gateway, Temecula, Palm Desert, Hemet and Blythe – will be ready to assist couples looking to obtain a marriage license and plan their ceremony.
