MARTINEZ — A lottery ticket with five of six winning numbers was bought at a Martinez store and is slated to generate a prize of more than $700,000, state officials said Sunday.
The ticket was bought Saturday at Valley Convenience Mart at 835 Alhambra Ave. in Martinez.
“Whoever bought it, that ticket is worth $724,043 before federal taxes,” said Carolyn Becker, a spokesperson for the California Lottery. “There are no state or local taxes.”
The lack of a winner of the lottery means the jackpot for the entire United States could be worth an estimated $238 million when the next draw occurs Monday night.
Drawings are also scheduled for Wednesday and Saturday this week.
“Even when no one hits the jackpot, there are all kinds of prizes that are won,” Becker said. “In California alone, there are 65,393 winning tickets from Saturday night’s draw.”
